In recent years, industrial investments in various sectors have been improved in Osmaniye thanks to the expansion of the industry in the surrounding cities and the government incentives for Osmaniye. The iron and steel sector has gained a significant share of these investments and soon became the flagship of Osmaniye's industrial development.

Iron and steel sector occupies an important place in the economic structure of Osmaniye, according to the industry committee Turkish Steel Producers Association data, 9 of 34 plants are located in Osmaniye-İskenderun region. In 2005, only 4 companies was in operation approximately with a 4.2 million tons of liquid steel capacity. Today, with the latest investments, the total steel production at the plants in İskenderun-Osmaniye region reached to a level nearly 30% of Turkey's steel production capacity. Osmaniye and Iskenderun region is one of the iron and steel cluster centers in Turkey and according to the Istanbul Chamber of Industry, in 2019 7 out of 9 companies producing crude steel at the region, is among Turkey's top 500 industrial corporations. Therefore, the iron and steel sector has taken its place among the leading sectors in Osmaniye in terms of the rising tendency in the region and national economy.
Osmaniye is an important province in terms of underground and aboveground resources. There are no problems in electricity generation and agricultural irrigation due to to the rivers and dam lakes.
The total installed power of the hydroelectric power plants in Osmaniye is 815,44MW. Among these power plants, Aslantaş and Berke Dams are on the Ceyhan River. Total installed power of Aslantaş (138MW) and Berke Dam (510MW) is 648MW.
Osmaniye has a very advantageous position in terms of renewable energy sources due to the length of sunshine duration and wind energy potential. Wind power plants in Osmaniye have been actively operating since 2009.
In our country, the Mediterranean Region ranks second after Southeastern Anatolia in terms of solar energy potential. It is seen that the solar radiation value of Osmaniye province is between 1650 - 1900 kWs / m2 / year in general. The 2-station Düldül Mountain cableway system being built in Düziçi district is 5450 meters long. Height difference between upper and lower stations is 1,548,50 meters. Below the Düldül Mountain, Düziçi Plain, Berke Dam, Aslantaş Dam, beech forests and the presence of different forests in the Sabunçayı Valley in the southern part reveal many shades of green.

The surface area of our province is 327.982 hectares and there are total 129.068 hectares of agricultural area. 78.44% of the agricultural land is made up of fields, 14.13% is made up of fruit fields and the rest is vegetable land(3,60%) and fallow land(3,83%). 859,580 decares of our province's agricultural land, which is cultivated on 1,290,681 decares, is irrigable and 713,329 decares of it is irrigated.
Agriculture, wheat, peanuts, corn, sunflower, soy and radish are the products that come to the fore. In addition, the production of olives, oranges and cherries is important. Peanut and its products, olive processing and olive oil, flour and bakery products, feed and packaging facilities provide important contributions to the economy of our province.
29,7% of Peanut production in Turkey, while the radish production 80,7%, 9% of okra production, 5,1% of corn production, 2% of olive production, 1,8% of the spinach production, 1,4% of the lettuce production takes place in Osmaniye.

Osmaniye groundnut is an oil plant from the legume family. Osmaniye groundnut is one of the most important products of agriculture and has become the symbol of Osmaniye. 29.74% of Turkey's groundnut production is carried out in our city, our province is Turkey 2 percent in the production of groundnuts. An important part of Turkey's groundnut trade volume is made out of at Osmaniye market.
Groundnut In 2002, has become the geographical indication product of the province with the registration at Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkey Patent Institute)
In over 300 large and small businesses in Osmaniye, groundnuts are processed and marketed. Some of these enterprises are branded and produce packaged products, others process and market semi-finished groundnuts as shelled or unshelled raw materials. About 4,000 families earn their living through people working in groundnut plants, which are particularly important for women's employment in the province.

Osmaniye is an area where olive-planted areas develop rapidly in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. In 2019, 10.000tons of table olives and 29.997 tons of olive oil were produced in our province. The 1,97% of the olive produced in Turkey are produced in our province. The leading districts in the production of olives in Osmaniye are Bahçe, Düziçi, Hasanbeyli, Kadirli and and central district in terms of olive planted area. The amount of olive production increased by 43% compared to year 2008 (TÜİK, 2019).
